First and foremost you should try and see the link between yourself and the coach as  a partnership, a fundamental collaboration of enthusiasm from you and skills and knowledge from the coach. If your serious about achieving your weight loss goals, but feel you have reached a plateau, then coaching can give you the added boost you need. My role can be summarised as the following;

1) To create a supportive environment for the process of change

2) To partner up with you to assist progress

3) Teach you key skills to achieve your weight loss goals, and then how to maintain them.

4) Keep you focussed and motivated

5) Helps you solve problems and overcome potential barriers

6) Challenge you to move outside your comfort zone

7) Encourage you to be accountable for your own actions

8) Help you to celebrate your victories

9) Help you look at the bigger picture

10) Takes the time to help you learn

Remember this is a two way relationship, hence the following represents your side of partnership!  Your role can be summarised as;

1) Being committed to there goals

2) Believing in themselves

3) Is willing to form a collaborative partnership with me

4) Can be relied upon to turn up on time for coaching sessions

5) Is willing to try new concepts and different ways of doing things

6) Willing to be honest about feelings and thoughts that emerge through the programme

7) Will complete tasks to be assigned

8) Ready to take the time to learn

9) Ready to take responsibility for there actions

10) Willing to accept set backs along the way
