At SmartShape we recognise that time restrictions and childcare can often be key barriers to exercising. Additionally, not everyone can afford the luxury of seeing a trainer day in day out. For this reason smartshape created the yummy mummy package. Its simple, you get all the benefits of a personal training service but for a fraction of the price! There are many misconceptions about personal training, and this very often relates to perceived cost and accessibility. |

Misconception No.1 “You have to see a trainer week in week out to get the most out of it” Wrong! The key thing about personal training is knowing you are accountable to someone at a given point through the month, where you will be asked to show evidence of your training and your dietary records, and be measured. Making someone directly accountable for there actions in the knowledge that they will be ‘assessed and measured’ can really help motivate you during the weeks where by you don’t see your trainer. Another key factor in personal training is knowing that someone (your trainer) has a genuine interest in your progression, and that this person is readily contactable and accessible to offer the support and advice when you need it. This is why the yummy mummy package includes a weekly mentoring service, and so you will always be contacted through the week directly by us. Whether you have a PT session fortnightly or even monthly, you’ll feel like you never lost touch with your trainer! Misconception No.2 “All PT sessions are 1 hour long and charged at an hourly rate” Nonsense! The yummy package is about is trying to offer a much more affordable and practical means of having your own ‘trainer’. That’s why we offer Smart PT sessions. These personal training sessions are still all 1 to 1 and still carried out in our private PT studio. The concept is simple, each smart PT session is 30 mins in duration (almost half price of a regular session!) and are designed to focus purely on an area of fitness that you want to work on that day. Maybe you feel like an rejuvenating 30 min countryside run, or perhaps want a session devoted purely toning your glutes?! No problem! Remember every time you do a Smart PT session you decide what to work on! Misconception no.3 Its to expensive! Not with smartshape! Not everyone can afford the luxury of seeing a trainer on a 1 to 1 basis day in day out like some celebrities do. But do you know there are easy and affordable ways of accessing all the benefits of a personal training service? Take for example our group personal trainings sessions (£10 for 1 hour). Conducted in groups of no more than 5 people you will still receive tonnes of 1 on 1 time with the trainer and still get a workout comparable in intensity to a 1 on 1 session. Group PT sessions are conducted in either our private ornate landscaped garden area or in the studio its self (Based in Halsall). How It works There are different levels of support and training available, you pick the amount and type of sessions that best suits your lifestyle and needs! Descriptions of the Yummy Mummy services and sessions support and mentoring services We offer an on-going weekly mentoring and support service, so even if you cant attend one of our 1 to 1 or group personal training sessions then you will still be contacted by the trainer that week. Comprised of a combination of emails, txt and phone calls this mentoring system is designed to keep you on track and cruising the motivation highway till your next session! Smart Personal training sessions Want to access affordable 1 to 1 personal training? Try our incredibly popular smart personal training sessions. These sessions are 30mins in duration, and are designed to target one of three training areas e.g. Cardio, toning and conditioning, or flexibility. You pick the area you want to specifically focus on for that day. A typical session involves a client arriving early then going for a run or a bike ride for 30 mins on their own, then straight into the Smart PT Session perhaps for 30 min kettle bell blitz! Regular Personal training sessions In these 1 hour sessions time is devoted to both cardio, toning, and stretching. On top of this time is also made to evaluate your last weeks/months training and eating and to plan ahead and set goals for the next month. At the start of each month one session is normally devoted to measuring and assessing, by way photos, tape measurement and body fat analysis. Group Personal training Conducted in small groups of 5 people or less, this is an affordable way to see a personal trainer, and yet still receive almost all of the benefits of a 1 to 1 session! Each session is 1 hour and consists of a toning workout based around kettle bells and swiss balls followed by stretching and relaxation. Dietary coaching- no more diet sheets! All SmartShape Nutritional programmes are delivered by a registered nutritionist with the Nutrition Society. Instead of the traditional ‘diet’ orientated approach to weight loss (the dreaded “diet sheets”) the SmartShape method of coaching heavily focuses on the behavioural component of eating. For example the programme is designed to address those eating behaviours that underpin what we choose to eat, when we eat, and how much we eat. Don’t forget, all this is conducted on a 1 to 1 basis and so by working collaboratively with our nutritionist solutions and strategies can be drawn up specific to you and your lifestyle.
